CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Little Lions Waldorf Daycare & Kindergarten, a child care centre with 11 locations in Thunder Bay, Ontario is currently seeking an individual to take on the challenge of Chief Executive Officer. The individual we seek must display the characteristics, qualifications and abilities necessary for this position. These include but are not limited to the following:

Characteristics:

  • Displays a strong etheric body and ability to cope with the stress of the position
  • Personal life is compatible with the Waldorf Philosophy
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Understands the role of the organization in the community, can see trends, can embrace change when needed
  • Can inspire site supervisors to lead in their own positions while ensuring regulatory compliance

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or similar
  • RECE in good standing or similar
  • Experience in a leadership role or management
  • Knowledge and experience in the Waldorf Philosophy. Waldorf training is an asset.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence with access to vehicle

 

Abilities:

  • General knowledge and ability in administrative and fiscal management, compliance with laws and regulations, development and maintenance of the infrastructure of the organization
  • Knowledge and ability to implement all aspects of the Child Care Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen?
  • Implement the vision of the organization
  • Formulate and implement policies to create a Waldorf environment that enhances and supports quality practice and child development
  • Assess the quality of the environment, instruction and interactions and address poor quality through evaluations/tools, action plans, coaching and professional learning opportunities
  • Formulate and implement professional learning opportunities and improvement programs, reflecting current knowledge of child development as well as Waldorf practices
  • Support collaboration between the organization (its board, staff and management) and the community to foster partnerships
